filing date, a patentee can use his or her invention on an exclusive basis.

protection for 10 years from the filing date. A device is a concept similar
to an invention, but its protection is limited to objects with physical
shape.

rights for protection of industrial designs.The protection on an exclusive
basis runs 15 years from the registration date. A design consists of the
visual ornamental characteristics (shape, feature, color) embodied in,
or applied to, an article of manufacture.

exclusive basis lasts fro 10 years (renewable) from the registration date.
